Etymology: A blend of occult + culture.
Noun
1. The appropriation by a subculture of occult themes (New Age, etc.) in opposition to the dominant culture.
Occulture Studio channels the occult, conspiracy and high strangeness into multi-disciplinary arts. We work across public installation, publishing, printmaking, literature, and live event production as a collaborative nexus of creatives whose work interegates spirituality.
The term “occult” evolves from the latin “occultus” meaning “hidden” or “secret” – we love secrets, providing they can be discovered.
Our use of the term “occult” is not brand or cultural cache. It is a sincere statement of belief.
